Preston Ivey MS, NCC, LPC
Preston is a Licensed Professional Counselor specialized in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with children and adolescents. He provides individual and group therapies and works closely with families to help parents understand how to better support their child.
He is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions; Yale Child Studies Center), an evidence-based treatment program for parents of children with anxiety and/or OCD. Preston's background includes years spent working in the outdoor leadership field with children and teenagers focusing on behavioral change and self-empowerment.
His clinical training is influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Social Thinking, and Play Therapy. He uses Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), an evidence-based treatment for OCD. Preston often works with clients on issues related to: autism, anxiety, OCD, fears/phobias, LGBTQ identity. He strives to create a space that feels comfortable while allowing opportunities for vulnerability and growth. He believes in fostering individuality, building on strengths, and increasing self awareness.
