Emily Brayton – Masters in Counseling Student

Supervised by Nichole Lecznar, MS, LPC-Supervisor Texas #69788

Currently, I am a graduate student in Southern Methodist University’s Counseling Program working toward completion of a Master’s degree, with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health and Marriage & Family Therapy. I earned my bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology from The University of Texas at Austin. My formal education has prepared me to counsel individuals and groups throughout their life span, individuals of diverse communities, families, couples, and individuals regarding sexuality.

I thoroughly enjoy working with all individuals and believe working towards bettering ourselves is invaluable. I believe that counseling is a collaborative process between counselor and client that builds with each session. Our feelings are influenced by our thoughts, experiences, and environment. Although we may not be able to control what happens to us, we can control where we go from there. My focus is on helping clients through the process of change and striving to achieve the results they want.
